Looking primarily at companies with enterprise value from R100m, we help build sustainable businesses, fund new technologies, expand working capital, make acquisitions and strengthen balance sheets. We do not facilitate start-up companies and operate as on balance sheet investors, not a fund.

Ferro consists of five operating divisions: Powder Coatings, Glass Decorating and Colouring, Plastic Masterbatch, Enamels and Tiles.  Company is based in Brakpan.

Elcon Crane Hire

Elcon Crane ,a mobile crane and rigging company, is based in Bayhead, Durban, and operates in the KZN region and has good associations with the shipping fraternity, as well as the petro-chemical, mining, civil and other general engineering industries. The business is co-owned and managed by the Wilkinson family.

Chlor-Alkali Holdings

Chemical commodity and service supplier to agriculture, mining and water treatment industries focusing on supply of chlor-alkali derivative products.

Asset purchase date: 1 September 2001

Protea Hotels

Protea manages, operates and owns hotels under ‘Protea’ and ‘African Pride’.

The group has 132 hotel management contracts in total, 98 in South Africa and 34 in other African countries.

Asset purchase date: 12 August 2009.

NCS Resins

NCS is the largest manufacturer of unsaturated polyester resins, gel coats and pigment pastes in the Southern Hemisphere.

Production takes place at their Pinetown and Isipingo sites.

Acquisition date: 1 February 2010.
